PCOS: A Common Challenge in Fertility
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent condition often encountered in clinics and remains one of the leading causes of female fertility challenges.
As healthcare practitioners, our primary goal is to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.
A recent study involving 120 participants highlights the significant benefits of an integrated approach. The findings reveal that combining acupuncture and herbal medicine enhances the clinical effectiveness of drug therapy for treating PCOS.
According to research conducted at the Hubei Maternal and Child Care Service Center, drug therapy using cyproterone acetate/ethinylestradiol and letrozole achieved a 72.5% total effective rate. When herbal medicine was added, the rate increased to 85.0%.
Remarkably, incorporating acupuncture into the treatment regimen further boosted the total effective rate to 95.0%.
